The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organized a Seminar on GST And Its Implication on Trade & Business (With sector−wise analysis on EPC Contract, Works Contract, Real Estate, Hospitality, Education Sectors, Trusts & E− Commerce) on 18th February 2022 in the Chamber premises.
Opening Remarks & Overview of GST & Its impact on Trade & Business was shared by Mr. Timir Baran Chatterjee, Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Senior Partner & Mentor, TCN Global & Economic Advisory Services LLP.
Sri Kaushik Chakrabarty, Joint Commissioner of Revenue, Directorate of Commercial Taxes, Government of West Bengal deliberated on Departmental Perspectives on Compliance Rating system in GST.
Technical Session I was on Budget Highlights 2022−23, Latest status of SEZ/EOU after withdrawal of Tax Benefit u/s 10AA, How Industry can leverage benefits of duty free while manufacturing in Bond, A Comparison of Benefits under SEZ, EOU and Bond were addressed by Mr.Timir Baran Chatterjee, Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Senior Partner & Mentor, TCN Global & Economic Advisory Services LLP.
In the Technical Session II, Mr. Arun Agarwal, FCA, K N Jain & Co deliberated on Works Contract and EPC Contract under GST.
Real Estate & Hospitality Industry under GST was covered in the Technical Session III and was deliberated by Mr. M. S. Mani, Co−Chairperson − Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Subject Matter Expert.
Technical Session IV was on GST on Educational Sectors & Charitable Trusts. Mr. Pulak Saha, Co−Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Partner − Tax & Regulatory Services, Price Waterhouse & Co. LLP was the distinguished speaker of the Session.
In the last Technical Session V, CA. Shivani Shah, Proprietor, Shivani Shah & Associates deliberated on GST and E−Commerce.
The deliberations after each session were followed by an interactive session with the participants. The Seminar was attended by close to 40 delegates.
