The Manufacturing & MSME Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) organized the Annual Manufacturing Workshop, 2022 on 24th, 25th and 26th February, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the theme: “Automation, Digitalization and Introduction to Industry 4.0” on digital platform.

The major focus of the workshop was on digitalization of manufacturing operations, explaining the building blocks of digitalization, introducing IIoT, and deliberation on the process of adopting digitalization. Detailed course modules were presented followed by case studies from multiple industries. The highlights of the workshop were the Q&A sessions between the trainers and the participants.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by Mr. Sanjay Behera, Chairperson − Manufacturing & MSME Committee, The BCC&I, and CSM−W−BPR, Tata Steel Limited on 24th February, 2022.

The trainers of the Workshop were:

• Mr. Arup Chakraborti, a Technology Evangelist and Entrepreneur. He is also the CEO of Greenwave Solutions, an innovation driven enterprise focused on IIoT and Manufacturing Visibility Solutions − Mr. Chakraborti’s sessions were held on 24th and 25th February, 2022
• Dr. Surjya Kanta Pal, Professor, Mechanical Engineering, and Chairperson, Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, IIT Kharagpur − Dr. Pal’s session was held on 26th February, 2022

Case study presentations were made by:

• Mr. Mallikarjuna B M from Vesuvius India Limited − His presentation was on 26 th February, 2022
• Mr. Amit Bhowmick, Director − Procurement, Linde India Limited − His presentation was on 26th February, 2022

The Concluding remarks and Vote of Thanks of the workshop was delivered by Mr. Nitin Jain, Co−chairperson − Manufacturing & MSME Committee, The BCC&I and Managing Director − India, Vice President − India & South East Asia, Vesuvius India Limited.
