The Legal Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) organized a “Special session with The Hon’ble Justice Smt. Moushumi Bhattacharya” on Saturday, 12th March 2022 from 4 p.m. onwards, on virtual platform.

This special session was addressed by the Hon’ble Justice Smt. Moushumi Bhattacharya, Calcutta High Court. The objective of the session was to focus on the latest trends under the "Commercial Courts Act, 2015" and how far has the Act been successful in achieving its objectives.

The session highlighted how the Act was enacted as part of numerous legislative reforms directed towards improving India’s economic growth, and boosts its image as an investment destination. It is heralded as one of the big legislative reforms to improve India’s ranking in the Ease of Doing Business index and enhancing its reputation as an investment destination by improving the speed at which contracts could be enforced in India.

The session had an over−whelming response and the total number of participants comprised of Advocates, Solicitors, Attorneys, other Legal Professionals and Law students; Key executives and business professionals from conglomerates and start−ups, etc. The total viewers were 715 plus approximately.
