Webinar on Construction with Speed and Sustainability through Steel, 26th August 2022, Virtual Platform.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a Webinar on "Construction with Speed and Sustainability through Steel" in association with JSW Severfield Structures Ltd. (JSSL) on 26th August, 2022 from 4pm to 5:30pm on Zoom.

The Webinar was addressed by Mr. Tirthankar Roy, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW Severfield Structures Ltd., Mr. Puneet Puri, HeadBusiness Development, JSW Severfield Structures Ltd. and Mr. Prasad Sawant, HeadDesign & Engineering, JSW Severfield Structures Ltd.

The objective of the webinar was to introduce and demystify common myths related to construction with steel, share experience through case studies of similar construction in the recent past and identify future projects ideal for steel application.

The Indian Government has laid special emphasis on infrastructure development through schemes like National Infrastructure Pipeline, Housing for all, Bharatmala Project, Sagarmala Project, Construction of Dedicated Freight Corridor etc. The Government has been engaging stakeholders from various sectors such as Housing & Construction, Infrastructure, Urban Development, Railways, Defence, Oil & Gas, Civil Aviation, etc. with a view to promote usage of steel and to boost the demand in Construction/Infrastructure. As urbanization gains further momentum, it becomes imperative to support it by building required infrastructure in earnest. Also important is the fact that such development is done with minimum impact on the environment. Hence “Speed” and “Sustainability” become the dual targets as India marches forward to become “Ecologically Conscious Economy”. Steel is one such versatile material which ensures both Speed and Sustainability and we can see the trend with increased consumption in India, which is going to grow further. The speakers addressed all these points in great detail and interacted with the participants answering all their queries.

The Webinar generated huge interest among the industry stakeholders. It was attended by around 200 Infrastructure Developers, Real Estate Developers, Architects, Engineers, Consultants and other relevant stakeholders.
