Pink IT, 17th February 2022, Five Mad Men, Salt Lake Sector-V, Kolkata
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry curated a platform on women leadership in technology business− “PINK IT”, on 17th February 2022 at Five Mad Men, Salt Lake, Sector V, Kolkata.
The aim was to create a forum for women in technology sector to identify and discuss on commonalities of opportunities and challenges in their work life and derive takeaway of collecting wisdom for individual leadership development.
Ms. Rowan Ainsworth, Australian Consul General in Kolkata and Ms. Melinda Pavek, US Consul General in Kolkata graced the Session as our Guests of Honour. They shared their vision on potential of women leadership in technology business and the opportunities they may explore.
The programme also connected us with senior industry personalities like Ms. Seema Ambastha, CEO, Brookfield Asset Management−Digital Realty and Ms. Padmaja Ruparel, Co− Founder, Indian Angel Network and Founding Partner, IAN Fund.
Young techentreprenuer, Ms Aunkita Nandi, Tier5 Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was featured in the programme. The Panel Discussion with Ms. Ambastha, Ms. Ruparel and Ms. Nandi was moderated by Prof Mousumi Dutta, Head−Economics Department, Presidency University who has authored a book "Women in IT Sector of Kolkata" which is published by Springer. The programme was conducted by Ms. Angana Guha Roy Chowdhury, Director and Head − Operations, The Bengal Chamber.
The participation in the programme was encouraging. −There were 60 participants and invitees from IT companies, corporates, digital marketing agencies, consulates and also individual IT professionals.
Mr. Adrian Pratt, Director, American Centre and Mr. Steven Liu, Director, Taipei World Trade Centre, Kolkata joined the programme.
The discussions were followed by a vibrant interaction with the participants. Enthused by the feedback, The Chamber has decided to annualize this programme.
