The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Full Day Workshop on Quantitative Analytica Methods for Decarbonization of the Energy, Fuel and Chemical Supply Chains on 22nd July 2022 at The Bengal Chamber premises.

Our instructors for the workshop were Dr. Debalina Sengupta, Coastal Resilience Program Manager, NOAA Sea Grant at Texas A&M University and Dr. Sudipta De, Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University who engaged the participants in a vibrant and knowledgeable discussion. 

The workshop focused on :

• deep understanding of sustainability assessment methods
• environmental impact accounting, consideration of total cost accounting, and optimization 

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes in bringing real value to the Members and Stakeholders. The Chamber’s focus on environment, sustainability and related matters is also significant. 

Around 26 participants from multinational corporations, academic institutions and other large industries across sectors like utilities, metals, manufacturing and power attended the workshop. 94% of the participants claimed to have learnt something new about sustainable engineering from the workshop while 93% of the participants reported to being likely to recommend this workshop to their colleagues. 

The workshop targeted early career engineers who work in the process industry such as design engineers. It also included practitioners involved in environmental impact accounting, consideration of total cost accounting and optimization. 

The session was well appreciated by the participants and there were many queries addressed by the speakers.
