Interactive Session on Climate Change: Building Resilience, 12th July 2022, The Bengal Chamber Premises
An interactive session on the topic of ‘Climate Change: Building Resilience’ was organized on 12th July 2022 by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), CSTEP (Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy) and PRADAN at The Bengal Chamber premises in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The interactive session was conducted in−person by Dr. Indu K Murthy, Sector Head − Climate, Environment and Sustainability. Prior to joining CSTEP, she worked as a Consultant Scientist at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Her areas of interest include climate change vulnerability, land−based mitigation, and adaptationƒresilience building or climate−proofing development to climate change. She is an expert on Carbon Sequestration and an important member of policy advocacy on climate change. The session included an overall discussion on climate change and building resilience against it.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. Jayanta Chakraborty, Chairperson − Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Consultant, Indofil Industries Limited. Dr. Indu K Murthy, Sector Head − Climate, Environment and Sustainability, at CSTEP (Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy) delivered the Keynote Address on Climate Change: Building Resilience. This was followed by an interactive and vibrant session with the audience which paved way for the concluding remarks and the way forward.
The moderated session discussed a range of issues pertinent to the subject with the participants.
