Workshop on Electrical & Fire Safety For Hospitals , Hotels and Restaurants, 29th April , 2022 , Virtual platform


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with CESC Ltd, organized second edition of the workshop on “Electrical & Fire Safety” for Hospitals, Hotels and Restaurants on 29th April 2022, Friday on virtual platform. The first edition of the said workshop was organized in April 2021, for the manufacturing industry.

The workshop offered necessary understanding, insights and guidance in reducing electrical and fire hazards in Hospitals, Hotels and Restaurants as well as other public places related to the said service sectors. The workshop focused on hazard identification, risk assessment, identification and implementation of control measures for reduction/elimination of hazards associated with usage of electricity and prevention & containment of fire incidents.

The Workshop was commenced with the formal Welcome Address by Mr. Gautam Ray, Chairperson, Energy and Environment Committee; Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Executive Director (HR & Admin.) CESC Limited & President (HR) Power Group, RPSG.

Prof. J. Maiti, PhD, Professor, FIE; Associate Editor, Safety Science; Associate Editor, International Journal of Injury Control and Safety Promotion; Chairman, Center of Excellence in Safety Engineering and Analytics (CoESEA); Profincharge Safety analytics and virtual reality laboratory, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur shared his perspectives of safety.

Mr. Gautam Basak, Manager (Safety Department), CESC Limited; Mr. Arabindra Ghosh, Deputy Manager Safety, CESC Limited and Mr. Sudip Kr. Paul, Deputy Manager (Risk & Disaster Department), CESC Limited were the expert speakers who addressed the session Enhancement of Awareness on Electrical and Fire Hazards and Their Mitigation.

The participants engaged extensively in the interactive sessions for their understanding of the issues and possible measures.

There was participation of around 52 representatives from organizations including Belle View Clinic; Durgapur Medical Centre Pvt Ltd; GPT Group (ILS Hospitals); Institute of neuroscience; Medica Superspeciality Hospital; Nightingale Group of Companies; Nibedita Health Care; Paramount Healthcare; Ruby General Hospital; Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute; Spandan Advance Medicare Pvt Ltd; Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd; Zenith Super Specialist Hospital; JW Marriott Kolkata; Paulson Hotels and Resorts Private Limited; Taj Bengal Kolkata.
