Workshop on “Creating Value Through ESG”, 29th March 2022, Virtual.
The Corporate Governance and CSR Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Workshop on “Creating Value through ESG” on Tuesday, 29th March 2022.
The objective of the workshop was to increase awareness on the ESG trends, stakeholder expectations & reporting, the quality of ESG reporting and integration with other initiatives like CDP, UNGC, TCFD, SBTi etc. that are needed in ESG Management. The workshop had been designed to provide insights on ESG and implement ESG reporting and integrated reporting into the business operations. The workshop facilitated participants to understand what successful corporates had done differently to integrate ESG into core operations.
The workshop was spread over three sessions; namely−
- Session 1 : ESG overview and current trends − addressed by Mr. Avinaw Prasad, Associate Director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP
- Session 2 : ESG reporting − priorities & stakeholder expectations and BRSR and other prominent reporting frameworks − addressed by Mr. Charu Gupta, Director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP
- Session III : Sharing perspective on ESG - Outlining ESG journey and managing winds of change − addressed by Mr. N P Srivastava, Head of Environment, Steel Authority of India and Mr. Nitesh Ranjan, AGM Environment, Steel Authority of India.
All 3 sessions were moderated by Mr. Shubhranshu Patnaik, Partner−Consulting − Power & Utilities, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP.
Along with The Bengal Chamber the workshop was organized in association with Exide Industries Limited, powered by CESC Limited and supported by Berger Paints India Limited, the entire programme had been curated by Knowledge Associate Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP. The workshop brought together Sustainability Leaders, Practice Heads, Industry Representatives, Policy Makers, Researchers, Industry Associations, and Academicians and had large viewership of around 2.5K.
